atsec is looking for individuals with a technical education and background to perform IT security consulting, and evaluation of security software and hardware products. The job provides individuals with the opportunity to learn about the inner details of several major software products, such as operating systems and databases, and to help companies improve the security of their products. This position also could provide an opportunity to perform ISMS consulting, PCI auditing, penetration testing and other IT security work. PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • Technical background in system architecture and development, network architecture, quality assurance, testing (all levels) • Knowledge of today’s general purpose operating systems, such as Unix-like or Windows systems (all levels) • Study or real work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field (junior level) • General programming skills (junior level) • Practical information security experience, to include designing, auditing, or testing of security products and systems (senior level) • Advanced knowledge of programming languages (senior level) • Experience with multiple operating systems, networking protocols, complex applications (senior level) DESIRED, NOT REQUIRED - BUT MUST BE WILLING TO LEARN! • Knowledge of the Common Criteria standard or participation in a related project • General knowledge of cryptography and related testing standards (e.g., FIPS 140-2) • SSCP, CISSP, or comparable certifications REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CANDIDATES • Authorized to work legally in the U.S. for any employer • Good customer interface skills • Positive attitude • Strong technical communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) • Effective teamwork and technical collaboration skills • Willingness to learn • Ability to act and learn without being micro-managed, • Flexibility in terms of traveling and participating in more than one project at a time • Willingness to actively participate in building the company’s future and reputation • Ability and willingness to understand the big picture, as well as concentrating on details. EDUCATION • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent in curriculum or work experience (junior level) • 5-10 years experience in IT Security (senior level) COMPANY INFORMATION: atsec is an international computer security consulting company and accredited IT security testing and evaluation lab.
