At this point in time, ToneLoc is more of a historical curiosity than an effective utility. Few telephone modem servers are in operation anymore, and those that are are rarely interesting. The modern analogue to ToneLoc would be a port scanner, like nmap et al.

If you don't know how to use ToneLoc already, you probably don't have need for it anymore. There exist wardialers that are easier to use nowadays, anyway.
