Position: Information Assurance Engineer
Location: San Diego, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-11-10
We are seeking an experienced Information Assurance (IA) Engineer to provide IA design, architecture, development, testing and integration oversight and technical support for, information system security engineering (ISSE). The candidate will be experienced in implementing IA in accordance with DoD and national security guidance, including expertise with the DoD 8500.1 and .2, FISMA reporting requirements, and DIACAP. The successful candidate will demonstrate qualifications as a systems engineer and understand systems engineering processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in developing solutions to complex IA issues, such as Cross Domain Solution, High Assurance Guard, HAIPE devices, Type I crypto embedment, and secure network architectures. The candidate will provide support for the testing, integration, analysis, and review of system components in a network centric environment. The candidate must be able to establish security policy, and translate secur
ity policy and requirements into an IA architecture that considers the operational environment, mission criticality, and application requirements. The candidate must be familiar with the National and DoD standards guiding the development of IA policy, requirements, integration, engineering, and certification and accreditation. Perform security, analyses and risk/vulnerability assessments. Participate in security test and evaluations. Coordinate certification and accreditation, activity for the project team. Evaluate information assurance technologies for application to the projects under the purview of the customer. Participate in planning and support security engineering for new projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline is required.
• CISSP, CNSSI 4012, NSTISSI 4015 preferred
• COMSEC/TRANSEC experience, including solution architectures, NSA required documentation
• The position requires strong leadership skills and experience.
• Preferred candidates have five to ten years of experience evaluating and solving complex integration projects. Must have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and resolve complex issues with customers and staff, experience in security programming and engineering. Individual must have a firm understanding of IA policies, requirements, and security architectures
• The nature of this position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Additional qualifications:
Expert use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Visio.
